What the project is about

ACIs and PROs often lack the tools or internal capacity to manage their intellectual assets strategically, and to turn research into wider value. IAM4RE.eu addresses this gap by shifting the focus towards a broader approach to intellectual asset valorisation and standardisation. Aligned with the EU Guiding Principles for Knowledge Valorisation and the related Codes of Practice, the project develops practical training, tools and mentoring for PROs, ACIs and their spin-offs. A training suite, MOOC and Train-the-Trainer programme support researchers, students and technology transfer professionals, while new service formats are tested directly in participating institutions to strengthen their ability to use and valorise research outcomes more effectively.

Why it matters

Good research does not always turn into value, especially when institutions lack the skills or support to manage their intellectual assets strategically. IAM4RE.eu equips AcIs and PROs to close that gap, testing what works in real institutions before scaling it further. This strengthens Europe's ability to turn research into economic and societal impact, in line with EU policy on knowledge valorisation.

Our role in the project

  • Leadingmentoring services and validating them with pilot institutions. Within it, RISE leads the set-up of the pilot teams matching participating institutions with appropriate experts, coordinating the implementation of the services, and supporting their testing in real institutional settings.
  • Leading the development of the new knowledge valorisation and standardisation service formats, including authoring the Strategic IA Management Planning service type and Non-Patentable IA Management, both later tested and validated.
  • Designing Market & Industry Analysis training module and contributing entrepreneurship content and spin-off examples across the training suite and MOOC.
  • Contributing to the policy guidelines that turn lessons from the pilots into recommendations for PROs and policymakers.
  • Supporting stakeholder engagement and the project's exploitation and sustainability planning.
