Science2Business Innovation Programme Workshop

This week RISE took part in the final workshop of the Science2Business Innovation Programme, organised by EIT Health Croatia. The session explored how innovation emerges, develops, and scales within different types of organisations—from research centres and startups to large industry leaders. Genera Research Ltd., Carebot, and Novartis each presented unique viewpoints on innovation, sharing insights into their journeys and the challenges they face.

Participants then joined three breakout discussions focused on key themes:

• From Lab to Life: What enables scientific breakthroughs to succeed outside the laboratory?

• Scaling What Works: How can effective healthcare innovations be expanded and adopted more widely?

• Innovation Takes a Village: How do we bring the right stakeholders together to drive meaningful change?

The workshop also highlighted existing gaps between the scientific, investment, and industrial communities, underscoring the need for better education and stronger support systems to bridge these divides.

Overall, the event provided an excellent space for networking, exchanging ideas, and fostering collaboration within the innovation ecosystem. We look forward to continuing our contribution to advancing health innovation in Croatia and beyond.
